The Asian Development Bank - Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) was established to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB's developing member countries to undertake postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region. Upon completion of their study programs, scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries.

Eligibility
Must be a national of an ADB borrowing member country
Must have gained admission to an approved Master's course at a designated institution
Must hold a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent with superior academic record
Must have at least two years of full-time professional working experience
Must not be more than 35 years old at the time of application
Requirements
Apply for admission to the partner university (e.g., Univ of Tokyo, NUS Singapore, Univ of Melbourne)
Complete the ADB-JSP Information Sheet
Submit proof of income (annual income must be below a certain threshold)
Submit proof of at least 2 years of work experience
Agree to return to home country for 2 years after graduation

Application Process
Select a participating university and program from the ADB-JSP list
Apply to the university for admission and indicate your wish to be considered for the ADB-JSP scholarship
Submit all required documents (including the ADB Information Sheet) to the UNIVERSITY (not to ADB)
The university screens applicants and ranks them
The university sends the top candidates' files to ADB for final approval
How to Apply
Do not send applications to ADB directly. You must apply to the specific university (e.g., University of Hong Kong, University of Tokyo) at least 6 months before the intake. Check the specific deadline for that university.

Verification of eligibility by ADB
Final selection by the Executive Director of Japan at ADB
