The Brawijaya International Student Scholarship (ISS) is an initiative by Universitas Brawijaya (UB) to increase the number of highly qualified international students studying in Indonesia. The scholarship is awarded to candidates demonstrating exceptional academic merit and leadership potential. It primarily covers the admission and tuition fees for the entire standard duration of the study program. Scholars will have the opportunity to study at one of Indonesia's leading universities located in the vibrant, student-friendly city of Malang, gaining both academic excellence and a rich cross-cultural experience.

Note: Living expenses, accommodation, flights, and visa processing fees are strictly the responsibility of the student
Eligibility
Must be a non-Indonesian citizen
Must hold a high school diploma for Undergraduate, a Bachelor's degree for Master's, and a Master's degree for Doctoral applicants
Must possess outstanding academic achievements in previous studies
Must demonstrate proficiency in English or the Indonesian language, depending on the chosen program's medium of instruction
Must commit to complying with Indonesian laws and the university's academic regulations
Requirements
Submission of a comprehensive motivation letter or study plan detailing academic and career goals
Proof of language proficiency (TOEFL score 500, IELTS 5.5, or equivalent for English-taught programs; BIPA or equivalent for Indonesian-taught programs)
Two letters of academic recommendation (strictly required for postgraduate applicants)
Submission of a research proposal explicitly sent via e-mail to io@ub.ac.id (strictly required for Master's and Doctoral programs)

Certified copies of academic transcripts and graduation certificates officially translated into English or Indonesian
Valid passport copy with at least 18 months of validity remaining
Recent formal color photograph (between 100 Kb and 1 Mb in size)
Certificate of Health from an authorized medical clinic confirming fitness to study
English or Indonesian language proficiency certificate
Motivation letter and Recommendation letters
Financial guarantee letter stating the ability to independently cover living expenses in Indonesia

For postgraduate applicants, additionally email the required research proposal directly to the International Office
