The CAS-ANSO Scholarship (formerly the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents) supports up to 200 Master's students and 300 PhD students annually. It is funded by the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to cultivate young scientists from across the globe. Awardees study at USTC (in Hefei) or UCAS (in Beijing) and CAS institutes across China.

Eligibility
Must not hold Chinese citizenship.
Must provide proof of proficiency in English or Chinese.
For Master's applicants: Must be born after 1 January 1996 (inclusive).
For PhD applicants: Must be born after 1 January 1991 (inclusive).
Must meet the admission criteria for international students of USTC or UCAS.
Must not take up other assignments during the period of the scholarship.
Must not be currently pursuing a degree in China (at the same level).

Select 'CAS-ANSO Scholarship' in the funding section.
Submit all required supporting documents (see list below).
Pass any required university entrance exams or interviews (if applicable).

For UCAS: Apply via is.ucas.ac.cn.
In the application portal, select 'CAS-ANSO Scholarship' as your funding source and submit your materials by January 31, 2026.
Selection Process
Administrative review of application materials.
Academic review by the host university/department.
Final review and selection by the CAS-ANSO Scholarship Committee.
