The Future Global Leaders Scholarship (FGLS) is a prestigious initiative by Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) designed to educate students to become future global leaders. This highly competitive program provides extensive financial opportunities for international students (non-Indonesian citizens) to pursue their Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degrees alongside the vibrant academic community at UII. The scholarship offers a wide range of benefits, from full tuition and registration fee waivers to monthly living and accommodation allowances, as well as Indonesian language and culture training.
Benefits
Registration Fee is waived once upon enrollment
Tuition Fee is fully waived per semester
Indonesian Language and Culture Courses (two-month or one-year program) are waived once
Health Insurance is waived annually
Monthly Living Allowance of 1,500,000 IDR (requires maintaining a minimum 2.75 GPA)
Monthly Accommodation Allowance of 1,000,000 IDR (requires maintaining a minimum 2.75 GPA)
Book Allowance of 700,000 IDR per semester (requires maintaining a minimum 2.75 GPA)
Thesis Allowance for Bachelor Degree of 700,000 IDR provided at the beginning of semester 7
Thesis Allowance for Master Degree and Doctoral Degree of 1,000,000 IDR provided at the beginning of semester 2
Eligibility
Must be a citizen of a country other than Indonesia
Applicants for the Bachelor's program must have graduated from high school, vocational school, or an equivalent institution
Master's applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution, and Doctoral applicants must hold a Master's degree
Must have achieved excellent academic results in their previous studies
Must not be receiving any other scholarships or grants
Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale to remain eligible for the scholarship's living, accommodation, book, and thesis allowances
Must commit to not working on a study visa and comply with Indonesian law
Requirements
Submission of a Statement of Purpose explaining academic and career goals
Proof of English proficiency such as TOEFL score 500, IELTS 5.0, Duolingo 75-80, or equivalent B1 level
Successful completion of a two-part interview covering basic academic knowledge and a specific scholarship assessment
Required Documents
Certified copies of graduation certificates and academic transcripts with official translations if not in English
Color scan of the first (photo) page of your active passport
Letter of good health
Current Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
Statement of Motivation or Purpose
Certificate of English or Indonesian Language Proficiency

Application Process
Go to the official admission portal at admisi.uii.ac.id and click 'International Admission'
Select 'Full Degree' and click 'Create NIU Account' to obtain an Admission Number (Nomor Induk Utama) as an International Prospective Student
Choose up to three study program options and complete all required personal data
Upload all mandatory documents carefully, as revisions or edits are not permitted after final submission
Wait for document verification; eligible applicants will be formally invited for the two-part interview
How to Apply
Ensure you regularly monitor the email registered with your NIU account, as all interview invitations and selection announcements will be sent there
Familiarize yourself with the study programs beforehand and ensure your translation documents have official stamps from a recognized translator office
If you hold a refugee status stamp on your passport, you are unfortunately not eligible to apply
Selection Process
Initial verification of submitted data and required documents by the UII admissions team
Shortlisted applicants must attend an interview consisting of a basic academic knowledge assessment and a specialized FGLS scholarship interview
Final acceptance is announced via the admisi.uii.ac.id portal, where selected scholars will download their Letter of Admission and Study Agreement
