This project aims to deliver the next generation of chemical vapour deposition (CVD) precursors by developing novel, volatile rare-earth complexes. Using synthetic organic and inorganic chemistry, you will prepare and characterize ultra-high purity lanthanide raw materials to create precursors with superior photophysical performance. These doped fibre optics have vital applications in telecommunications, medical treatments, and quantum technologies. You will gain expertise in inorganic synthesis, ligand preparation, and advanced characterization techniques.

Eligibility
Must have a UK 2:1 honours degree (or international equivalent) in Chemistry or a related science/engineering discipline
