The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) supports high-calibre international students who wish to study at Master's or PhD levels in Ireland. The program is funded by the Government of Ireland in partnership with Irish higher education institutions. It awards 60 scholarships annually, covering one year of full-time study.

Eligibility
Must be a domiciliary of origin outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, and the UK
Must have an offer of a place at an eligible Irish higher education institution (conditional or unconditional)
Must demonstrate a record of outstanding academic achievement
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills
Must demonstrate strong participation in extra-curriculum activities
Requirements

Provide a valid Offer Letter from an Irish University
Write a Personal Statement (max 2000 words)
Submit two reference letters (Academic/Professional)
Provide academic transcripts

Application Process
Apply for admission to your chosen Irish university/college immediately (if you haven't already)
Wait to receive an Offer Letter (Conditional is acceptable)
Register on the official GOI-IES application portal when it opens on Jan 29
Complete the application, focusing heavily on the personal statement sections
Submit before the deadline of March 12, 2026
