The GREAT Scholarships 2026 programme, launched by the British Council together with UK universities, supports postgraduate students from eligible countries to access world-class UK higher education opportunities. Each scholarship offers a minimum of £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year taught Master’s course.

Eligibility
Must be a citizen of one of the eligible countries (e.g., Nigeria, India, Pakistan)
Must have an undergraduate degree that enables entry into a UK postgraduate programme

Must meet the English language requirement of the UK university
Requirements
Apply for a Master's degree at one of the participating UK universities
Receive an offer of entry (Conditional or Unconditional)
Complete the specific GREAT Scholarship application form provided by the university
Submit a personal statement on the topic of UK-Home Country relations

Apply for admission to the specific university and course.
Once you have an offer, follow the university's instructions to apply for the GREAT funding.
Submit the funding application by the university's specific deadline (usually between April and May 2026).
How to Apply
Go to the Study UK website -> Scholarships -> GREAT. Filter by your country (e.g., Nigeria). You will see a list of universities (e.g., University of Hull, Nottingham). Apply to those specific schools.
