The Maastricht University NL-High Potential Scholarship offers 21 fully funded scholarships to highly talented students from outside the EU/EEA who have been admitted to a Master's programme at UM. The scholarship covers tuition fees, a monthly stipend for living expenses, and health insurance costs.
Benefits
Full waiver of tuition fees.
Living expenses stipend (approx. €12,350 for 13 months or €23,750 for 25 months).
Health and liability insurance coverage (approx. €700).
Visa application costs (€210).
Eligibility
Must hold nationality in a country outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam.
Must not hold dual nationality from an EU/EEA country.
Must have applied for admission to a participating Master's programme at Maastricht University.
Must meet the specific admission requirements of the Master's programme.
Must not have previously participated in a degree-seeking higher education programme in the Netherlands (exchange students are eligible).
Must be not older than 35 years of age on 1 September 2026.
Must have obtained excellent results in prior education (GPA of 7.5 out of 10 or higher).

Receive a student ID number from Maastricht University.
