The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) is a strategic initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract, motivate, and retain talented human capital from abroad. It is designed for outstanding international graduates wishing to further their postgraduate studies at leading Malaysian universities and higher education institutions. The scholarship fully covers tuition fees and provides a consistent monthly living allowance, empowering scholars to fully dedicate themselves to advanced research and academic excellence while experiencing world-class education and Malaysian hospitality.

Monthly living allowance stipend of RM 1,500.00 to support daily expenses
Note: Travel expenses and flight tickets to and from Malaysia are not provided by the Government of Malaysia and must be covered independently
Eligibility
Must be a citizen from one of the recognized MIS 2026 recipient countries
Must intend to pursue full-time postgraduate studies (Master's or PhD) in Malaysia
Master's applicants must not be more than 40 years old at the time of application
PhD applicants must not be more than 45 years old at the time of application
Master's applicants must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or 2nd Class Upper (Honours) at the bachelor's degree level
PhD applicants must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or excellent results at the Master's level in fields related to the intended PhD study
Must not take any paid employment during the scholarship tenure without written approval from the host university
Requirements
Submission of an online application comprising all required academic and personal information
Proof of strong English proficiency through an IELTS score of 6.0, TOEFL PBT score of 550, or an official declaration that the previous degree was taught entirely in English
Submission of a formal written research proposal containing a minimum of 1,000 words related to the intended field of study
Must independently arrange travel to Malaysia, as airfare is strictly not covered by the scholarship

Certified copies of academic transcripts covering all completed subjects and grades
Certified copies of Bachelor's and/or Master's degree certificates
Valid English Language Proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, or official university declaration of English medium instruction)
Comprehensive written research proposal (minimum 1,000 words)
Letters of recommendation from academic or professional referees

Access the MIS Online Application System via the official MOHE scholarship portal at biasiswa.mohe.gov.my/INTER
Register for an applicant account to gain access to the application dashboard
Carefully fill out the Application Form with all required personal, academic, and contact details
Scan all compulsory supporting documents and save them strictly in PDF format
Upload the compiled PDF documents into the system
Submit the completed online application before the closing date of 03 April 2026
