The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Programme is designed to further boost Human Resource Development in the Niger Delta region. This initiative equips young people with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the local content programme of the Federal Government, as well as enabling them to acquire specialization in their fields of study to compete globally in various professional disciplines. The scheme targets suitably qualified applicants with relevant Bachelor's Degrees from recognized Universities to pursue Master's Degrees at overseas institutions.

Financial support for foreign post-graduate studies, with the amount based on the prevailing exchange rate of the Naira
Eligibility
Must hail from the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria
Must have achieved a First Class Degree or Second Class Upper Division
Must not be 40 years or above at the time of application

Submission of an online application through the Commission's website
Must possess a valid Post Graduate Admission letter from a recognized overseas university
Must participate in and achieve a minimum score of 70% in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted in Rivers State if shortlisted

Application Process
Visit the NDDC Website at www.nddc.gov.ng
Submit the online application via the portal, attaching all the specified required documents
Upon successful completion, note the automatically assigned registration number and print a hard copy of the online-generated acknowledgment for future reference
Ensure the application is submitted between March 23, 2026, and April 19, 2026
How to Apply
Ensure you already have a verified Post Graduate admission letter from an overseas university before initiating the application process
Note that deferment, change of institution, and change of course are strictly not permitted after selection
The Commission will not enter into any form of communication with candidates who are not shortlisted or not successful during the stages
Selection Process
Preliminary shortlisting is based on WASSCE/NECO results, undergraduate degree classification (1st Class or 2nd Class Upper), and Local Government Identification
Shortlisted candidates undergo a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and must score a minimum of 70% to proceed
Further shortlisting leads to final verification done through the Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC)
Preferences will be given to candidates from Oil Producing Host Communities/Local Government Areas provided they meet the approved cut-off mark
The Commission ensures a fair spread of courses amongst beneficiaries within each State
