The UNIFEMGA Scholarship Fund began as an informal effort by members of the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates' Association to pay school fees and provide grants to students. Over the years, it has evolved into a sustainable, formal scholarship scheme that has supported students for more than a decade. The core mission of the scholarship is to empower the next generation by alleviating the financial constraints faced by indigent Muslim students while simultaneously driving academic competitiveness and encouraging female representation in academia.
The scholarship program is highly structured, offering specialized categories to cater to different levels of academic pursuit. Applications are processed online and include distinct paths for Fresh and Returning applicants across College, Honors, Merit, and Postgraduate levels. By accommodating returning beneficiaries, the association ensures long-term educational sponsorship rather than just one-off assistance.
Benefits
Undergraduate students in the Merit and Honors categories receive a grant of ₦100,000.
Postgraduate beneficiaries are awarded a financial grant of ₦150,000.
The scheme offers long-term support to students throughout their academic journey.
