The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship for excellent students from both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries, applying for a Master's programme at the University of Twente. The scholarship value ranges from €3,000 to €22,000 for one year. If the student achieves good grades (7/10), the scholarship can be renewed for the second year of the Master's.

Renewable for the second year based on academic progress (50% of credits + 7/10 average)
Eligibility
Must have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master's programmes starting in September 2026
Must have a student number (assigned after admission application)
Must comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands
Must comply with general English language test requirements (IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90)
Must be in the top 5-10% of your graduating class
Requirements
Complete the admission application for a Master's program
Wait for the admission letter (can take up to 8 weeks)
Apply separately for the UTS scholarship via the Osiris student portal
Provide a motivation letter specifically for the scholarship
Provide proof of academic excellence (GPA or ranking)

Apply for a Master's program at the University of Twente via Studielink
Receive a conditional or unconditional admission letter
Log in to the 'Osiris' student portal using your student number
Select the 'Scholarships' section and choose 'University of Twente Scholarship'
Submit the specific motivation letter and complete the form before Feb 1
How to Apply
You CANNOT apply for the scholarship until you have applied for the Master's course and received an admission email. Because admission takes weeks, you must have applied for the course by now (or extremely urgently) to meet the Feb 1 scholarship deadline.
